  • Right Hand Turning Over

    Hi again
    I am now an 8 handicapper (aged 14)and last week shot 74 gross in the mens competition.Most shots are fine but now and again i turn my right hand over causing a hook.Can anyone tell me a drill to stop me doing this.Thanks in advance.

    Have you been able to identify what makes the hand turn over? I am not sure there is going to be a drill to keep you from doing it.

      Its natural and correct to let it turn over, but I would be willing to be that you are shutting the face as you do...or flipping.

      Have you tried holding the cup in the trailing hand throughout the swing drill?

        Well done Connor on your handicap, you have done very well

        Are you sure it is your right hand turning over that causes your hook? Often the problem is letting your arms get overactive and start outracing your body turn. If it only happens on a rare occasion then it will be difficult to prevent, the first thing is to weaken your grip a little but that may create a fade with your good shots.
