Re: swing like an axe?
I think that the axe-handle technique of applying a radial push-force to the clubshaft is suitable for golfers who are "hitters".Originally posted by mattney View Postwas just wandering what you guys thought the swing felt like was it like swinging an axe at a tree or more of a sort of tennis shot swing ?
I think that the example of a two-handed basketball pass from the right side (as demonstrated in this next photo from Hogan's book) is a better mental image for swinger's, who drag load the clubshaft and who do not drive load the clubshaft (like a hitter).

See my review paper on the differences between swinging and hitting.

Re: swing like an axe?
yeah i was thinking that myself gjs that it would be a lot of work the baseball swing ,seems to me there would be a lot of rolling of the club and hard to square up but a lot of people seem to give that as a tip ive been trying it and found it hard , was playing terrible and just thought if i knew what the swing felt like might be able to do the thing.Originally posted by GolfJunkieSr View PostA bent over at the waist baseball swing might be work. Some one taught the golf swing by having the student throw their club down range towards, and on the target line. Then again, I have seen some ugly, unexplainable swings being used that were quite accurate. GJS
