While practicing your short game at the chipping/bunker greens is it ok to use your own balls. I usually gather up balls that are already laying on the green but noticed a few players the other day coming up to the bunkers/greens with buckets directly from the machines. thanks,

Re: Question about proper ettiquete at driving range
I dont think it really matters. Unless the range has some silly rule about just using there balls for chipping and putting in which case I would not go to that range again. The only thing that annoys me at the range is when I am on the putting green and some Jackhole comes up and starts chipping. Its okay if your chipping from the fringe but dont put the ball 20yds from the putting green and start chipping when there are people on the green putting.

Re: Question about proper ettiquete at driving range
I was told by a local pro at a course it is better for you to use the type ball at the chipping and putting area you will play with on the course. This will help you know how the ball will play on the course. Most range balls are two piece and are for distance.
