  • Allignmenet issues

as someone who has never had any lessons
ive always struggled to get a consistent golf swing going.
recently ive noticed a push coming in to play
so far ive read its an open face
ive tried shuffling about and i will always over compensate resulting in a shot 20 yards left of target

im wondering is there a simple drill to allign at target properly?
as i feel this may be the main problem
my partners usually tell me the ball has gone where i was aiming

    Two things:
    1. take an old shaft and place it along your toe line and parallel left of target, practice with that alignment and get used to the feel.
    2. When playing, stand behind the ball and visualize a divot mark or blade of grass etc. about 6 feet in front of the ball and in line left of target, while watching that line, walk to and address the ball, your alignment will improve greatly.
    Works for putting also.
