Re: Peak Performance Golf Swing
Ted's right they started on me after I showed my interest and I still can't get rid of them. None of it is particularly ground breaking and some of it is a bit sus.

Re: Peak Performance Golf Swing
The manual is a complete waste of time. 107 pages which actually only contain maybe 10-15 pages of actual instruction. Ninety percent of the manual is rationalization and justification of his method and some anecdotes. Unfortunately his explanation of his method really consists of take a 3/4 swing, don't cock your wrists.
The only details are in the grip, setup and takeaway sections. The laughable part is his entire downswing theory is "pop-up" like a toaster". In the manual phots are sparse.
He does not address the entire swing until Page 96.
The bonus videos are an absolute joke, no information what so ever. Fortunately the cost is not expensive so that probably lets him get away with everyone not demanding their money back.
As someone posted previously I have had no problem since unsubscribing.

Re: Peak Performance Golf Swing
This method strikes me as something that isn't going to be for everybody....mainly because everybody isn't going to give it a chance to start working for them. I've been doing a regular golf swing for years, but was coming away with back pain and muscle pain from a previous injury. When I saw the Peak Performance Golf Swing....it just made sense to me. I got the free videos and wrote down the key points in my golf memo book where I keep record of average distances for my clubs. The next time I went to the range I decided to give it a try. The first few balls I mishit because of not being used to the method, but after that everything was hit well. I started from my 60 degree wedge and worked my way up through all the irons, woods and on to my driver. Here's what I noticed. My irons were going dead straight, exactly where I was aiming them....and, I gained 15-20 yards on my distance. I credit this totally to more club head speed. Before with my regular swing I was taking easy swings at around 75-85% of my power because if I tried hitting harder I'd get a lot of mishits. With this swing I can put everything into it and am getting solid contact with the ball every time.
The woods and driver were a little harder to get used to using this swing on and I would say anyone that took their driver to the range and started out using it as a gauge on how the Peak Performance Golf Swing works would probably walk away thinking it sucked big time. The driver is the harder club to hit using this swing, but, if you persist, it will work. It took me about 10 balls to get the tee height right(New to me driver) as well as the ball position in my stance. After I got that down, I was swinging away with no problems. With the driver the swing actually comes out to a little more then the 3/4 swing as the inertia of the club head pulls it a little farther, but the main thing is not going around much farther then the 70 degree shoulder turn. Anyway, I'm not sure if I gained any distance at all on my driver as it was later in the evening when I got to the range and by the time I had worked up to my driver it was too dark along the tree line to see where the ball had landed....I do know, however, that I am getting at least the same distance I was getting before but with the added advantage of having the balls go straight instead of slicing when I put everything I have into it. I could follow the ball flight in the air until it dipped below the tree line and they were pretty much all heading straight down the middle of my target line. The only ones that didn't were because I sometimes forgot and took a hack with my old "regular" swing.
What I've noticed with this swing is there are things that Trahan teaches that I don't do. Not that I can't do them, I just find doing it put too much in my mind when setting up, so I just went with what was easier and it worked out fine. The major thing is how he sets up his lower body. I just couldn't get into the "riding a skinny horse" lower body setup so I went with my regular lower body setup with the toes pointed out at roughly 30 degrees and it worked great. The major part of his swing, I believe, is the 3/4 swing, no wrist cock and 70 degree shoulder turn.
Anyway, the bottom line is this swing has helped me. It may help you too if you give it a chance. If not, keep doing whatever you're doing now.
On another note, from what I learned on the free videos and doing a little research on this swing, I didn't bother ordering the manual as I don't think there would be anything the manual could teach me that I haven't found either on his site or by searching around the internet. It might be good for those that are visual learners....maybe....I don't know as I learn by listening and doing.

Re: Peak Performance Golf Swing
It can help us as amateurs because we're the ones that need the help.
Ever think of it this way....if his son didn't use this swing, maybe he wouldn't be a professional golfer. Using it he has moved up to within the echelon of the top golfers in the world.

Re: Peak Performance Golf Swing
Yea your right canadian man, I was wrong to say that. I have the manual he puts out and Don is very convicted in what he teaches. I do agree with a lot he has in his material, what was I thinking. Thanks for bringing me back to center. bp
