  • Golf Instruction for the weekend player

I am new to this forum, but I was hoping to get some feedback from somone other than a friend or family member on a very short book I wrote on how I play golf.

It is very non-techinical and should be relevant for all levels of players.

It is free to download from the link below my signature and should take about 10 minnutes to read. I am not asking for your e-mail address or any kind of registration, so don't worry about me sending you e-mails every day trying to get you to buy something. I'm too lazy to write a bunch of e-mails anyway.

However, I will respond to your feedback, since I would appreciate you taking the time to write me with your thoughts.

    Thanks in advance!

That looks a handy little thing. Don't know if all the pics came through though.
I have downloaded it and will look through it a little later.

Just a quick comment of what I'd like to see. One chapter devoted to club construction. A diagram or a few pictures of what the golf club orientation to the ball and the turf should look like at contact and beyond. For some like me, it's a "game changer".
You can't teach a carpenter w/o a discussion of his tools, a ball player and his equipment and so on. I see too many beginners who aren't even appropriately "introduced" to the tools of the trade.

I'm adding another comment. This may be just a difference of opinion or preference. The teaching that I adhere to encourages excellent posture at set up, and not "tucking" the buttocks in, but out, maintaining some degree of lordosis. This minimizes the stretch on the lower back muscles, and allows you to bend at the hip. Any twist in the lower back during the swing has a degree of lower back stretch which is exacerbated by not having good posture as well as a slight flex in the knees. Just a difference of opinion maybe.
      Good luck with your venture.
