I played with this at the range yesterday. It appeared to stop me pulling my approach irons like the 7. Wonder if this is gonna be good for me.

Do I see a conflict with those who say the bottom of the arc should be a little farther forward, or am I knit picking ?

Yes

He suggests that the bottom of the arc is in line with the sternum notch and that needs positioning in the correct position for differing clubs, forward for shorter irons, central for longer and back for driver. Wheres the conflict?

With apologies, it's the old "math teacher" in me that sees a small lateral displacement between the cheek and the notch when compared with the bottom of the arc/divot center as much as 4" beyond the ball which I try to achieve. I have a hard time contemplating off setting these two reference points that great a distance and think in different terms.

Yes, the old "Engineer" in me can sympathise with that. I think like most golf instructors it is more a matter of feel than physics.
