  • Hitting thin and Fat

My tee shot is fine but I have having problems with my second shot on fairway. I am either hitting thin or fat. Can anyone help me correct this.

Difficult to diagnose without a video but you may be flipping at the ball in an attempt to lift it into the air, this gets your weight on your back foot and sets the swing low point behind the ball. This will hit fat but if you flip your wrists you may catch the ball thin on the upstroke. You can get away with it hitting from a tee.

If this is the case you need to work on your weight transfer and impact position. Let the club loft get the ball up.

Poor weight transfer, and/or ball placement in stance are two good areas to look at for your swing impact problems. That's the first two I would check if I was doing having these issues.

Make sure your weight is predominately on your front foot at impact to help with the fatties. Don't know where your ball placement is now, but try moving it back in 1/2" increments and see if that takes care of the thin shots.

Might be some other issues. GJS

You are both right sir. I have corrected this problem by concentrating on weight transfer,
