Hoping somebody can help me out here...

Every time I hit a shot, from the point in time when I make contact with the ball until the completion of my follow through, my left foot slides outwards (i'm right handed) by a fairly large amount. So once I've finished my shot, my left foot is pointing about 45 degrees outward instead of straight as it started.
Can anyone tell me the reason this is happening?

Then i'm not sure if this is linked to my left foot problem but when I am finished with my shot, the front of my body (stomach/chest) is then facing directly forward at my target, is this incorrect as well?

    Thanks

    Re: left foot problem

You may be keeping your weight on your lead foot heel, this will encourage it to spin out, try keeping the weight more over your instep. Also make sure the spikes in your shoes are in good repair.

Your chest and stomach facing the target at the end of the swing is good.

Thanks Brian, yeah I've always been inclined to have my weight a little too much on my heels of my feet. I will try focus on keeping it over my instep tomorrow at the range and i'll report back if it helped.

Hi, There is nothing wrong with setting up with your left foot between 30 and 45 degrees angled towards your target and your right foot relatively straight, in fact some pros teach this as a set up routine. If your weight transfer is shifting from left foot to right and back again at the right timing during your swing don't stress. I suspect that it is if your finish is as you say.
        Regards, Peter
