What is the correct action of the hips when transitioning from backswing to downswing? From the top of my backswing, my hips immediately clear out which causes everything to go left. When I focus on keeping them quiet I have much better results. It's become such a natural move for me to first clear the hips that I'm having a hard time quieting this movement. Any drillsout there for this?

Re: Hips in downswing
The first move of the hips in the downswing should be a small bump that transfers your weight to the lead foot, this will also assist to drop the club down into the delivery position. As you now rotate through the hips will continue to rotate clearing for the arms to hit through.

Re: Hips in downswing
Consciously thinking of too many body parts while swinging gets you in big trouble (at least it does me). The most helpful hint I've had by instructor is to make sure at impact, your back knee bends inward. Your weight will slide forward and your hips will rotate naturally in time with your upper body with this slight move when initiated during the downswing.
