Im new to golf and have just invested in a cheap driver (Tour 2 model??) to get me off the par 3 course and onto the 18 holes, but ive been using my driver on the driving range and cant get the ball to pass 150, which cant be right. Ive been told to position the ball forward, with hands slightly forward aswell, and to hit the ball, not the tee. Apart from that i swing basicly the same as i would do with an iron, and i use them fine. Can anyone help me!What am i doing wrong?

Re: I cant use my driver(HELP)!
Hi 8en_C,
When hitting your driver, make sure you widen your stance slightly. This will create a slightly more shallow swing plane, which you need to sweep the ball off the tee. Keep a nice slow tempo on your backswing and move your weight through the ball during your through swing. If you swing too hard the results are negative - swing within yourself (a speed you can easily control) to provide the best results because that is the speed where your technique will be the best.
Keep us updated with your success!!!
