  • Pls help me out

hi, i really need help with my swing especially with the drives. Cant seem to get any consistency from my drives (most of the misses are hooks). i notice that i am overswinging (fine with the irons though) and also coming from the inside on the downsing but i dont really know how to fix it. pls feel free to comment

here are the links to my swing:

You seem to be very active with your arms and upper body in the downswing. Try to pause the transition from the top a little while your lower body leads the downswing and rotates fully through.

honestly, appears to be what i would call a really good rotational swing. the shots you hit on the video all appeared straight, so difficult to tell what going on with the hook. the only small things i noticed were 1) left hand appears a bit strong and 2) the fist movement off your stance is a shift to the right side with your head - you might want to try presetting a bit on your right side in other words a bit more weight on the right foot and slightly turn under turn you right arm so that the right elbow is a bit turned in. anyway its overall such a good swing that I think you need more critical professional help than can be offered here.

you are standing too close to the ball with driver, your left hand is too strong a grip position, you are rocking during your swing.
Try to loosen up those arms and hands, take a neutral grip, lay the driver head to the ball before taking your final stance, keep your head still during the swing.

          Good advice.

You have a very sound looking swing. Only things i would say are
          1. grip is too strong - not a pr0blem if you are not hooking but you are
          2. head movement is too much. Look at tigers backsing or most of the modern pros stay very stacked over the ball, and even with a driver their weight is only 50/50 at the top. Again, old classic swing is a weight shift to the right side. Modern technology demands a more stacked (upped body centred over lower) in the swing.

          My advice
          1. Try teeing the ball a little lower and feel like you are hitting doown on the ball a little more - tiger, charles howell and garcia and many others do this. Can help generate more spin and reduce sidespin - losing you a little distance air time but more roll and more accuracy.
          2. just try to get the clubface to come in more open and practice hitting fades until you can do it automatically. The truth of the matter is a hook is just a closed cluubface in relation to the path. Practice this directly
          3. use the zach johnson drill. Feel like the club is mmoving left through impact whilst the face is open and rehearse impact in slow motion.

But how many fairways are you missing? what are you percentages?

            Again, very nice swing!
            Hello!

Can you explain the left hip thing?

Looks pretty good to me. I don't understand why keeping your hips more level is deirable when IMO it goes against the physical nature of the setup and how our hip joints work.

            Cheers
