  • Moe Norman single plane swing

    Hi All,

Wondering if anyone has come across or tried the Moe Norman swing. He was a canadian golfer. Google him, really cool stuff. I sustained an injury and began looking for some alternative swing methods because of some limitations and came across this swing theory.

    Hi,

It's a sound enough way to strike a golf ball but is so very different from the conventional method, in many ways it is simpler with less moving parts. I think you have to commit totally to the precepts of this swing to make it work.

I experimented with it some time ago and had some good results.

      Brian,

Absolutely one must commit, there is no half way. I have been practicing this swing since May and the results are amazing. No moving parts. Thats what my playing partners say. If you get an opportunity you can watch video of moe hitting shots. It is pretty amazing. I think Hogan nicknamed him "pipeline" moe because his shots were so straight. Unfortunately, it is thought that moe was autistic and could not handle the social rigors of pga touring.

if you want to be ridiculed.
Moe was autistic and that was the only thing he could do; he did it well but not for very many who are not stout of heart.

Your response makes absolutely no sense to me.

I have tried but wasn't able to fully capture the way Moe explained. It certainly makes a lot of sense what he talks about. He consistency speaks volumes for how good the method is.

It's just a case of practice, practice and more practice until you can completely make the changes a permanent habit.

                  KrudlerAce,

Could not agree more. Have been at it since about may. Had some amazing success initially and thought I had the swing down cold onlky to learn I did not. I have gone back to practicing the fundementals of the swing and it it paying dividends. The purity with which I am able to ball strike with Moe's swing is incredible. Unfortunately, I am not able to get out often enough to won the swing.
