  • Head Position in Golf Swing

What is the ideal position of your head in the golf swing? I have always thought it to be behind the golf ball, particularly with your driver and irons. It should always remain still but how far back behind the ball do you position your head?

Does it change much as you get into the shorter irons and even chipping?

    Interested to hear anyone's thoughts.

For me it has to do with spine tilt, the longer the club the more spine tilt. Short irons, very little so head is over the ball.
For the most part, I like to keep my head still while swinging around a stable spine angle.

Head is attached to the spine-at least when you are alive-so looking down at the ball with short irons means you have no spine tilt;the longer the club, the more the spine tilt or head behind the ball.
