  • Thanks GTO!! This is what I have learnt so far!

    Hi Guys

Mahbo is very appreciative of this collection of golf enthusiasts. Here is a collection of thoughts and paradigm shifts I have now learnt as a result of this awesome website. Brian W, Golf Junkie SR, Beowulf, Lowpost42, Keiko, Ringer, Rogue, Neil 18, GregsWillis, KBP, Bill Reed, A1 Golfer, Krudler Ace, Slater 170- appreciate your responses and changes you have helped me with!
This is what I have walked away with so far, think or now apply:
    · When swinging grip the club VERY lightly
    · Lateral hip movement to initiate the downswing. This is Gospel here! But created a breakthrough for me
    · What feels right, may not be right! Persist with the change and trust
    · Thinking about club position, and swing check points in the middle of your swing? NO-GO and will ruin and rhythm and distance
    · There isn’t only one way or one theory that rings true for everyone! EG Brians U tube example of Ernie Els release V Zach Johnson. It revealed to me, that I can’t rely on only what one high profile coach says. I never realized that there were like 3-4 different types of releases!!!! Hence I started making the mistake of copying what one coach or player does, when it may not suite my swing. MOMENT OF CLAIRTY ( said in a high pitched voice)

All in all, you guys have catapulted and lifted my game to a new level.
    Many thanks

    Awesome

Thanks Mahbo, that's great to hear.

There are some very knowledgeable people here on the forum about the golf swing and it is good to hear that you have gained so much from your time here.

Hope your golf continues to improve.

Hi Brian. A while back you sent me a link comparing Ernie els handsy release versus Zach Johnson strong grip body release. I can find it!! Could I trouble you to resend it? Also would you by any chance know which thread it cam from? Just dying to re-read it again! Thanks so much as always . Mahbo
