I have just built the first set of clubs I can be proud of. They are Powerbilt TPS ellipsoid of power peripherally weighted about 10 years old (I think) They were in very good condition (but I was useless with them) and I saw them as something that needed bringing back to their former glory Amongst other things I reshafted them and made them 1/2 o.s. I usually use a off the shelf set of ci7's. I am now playing strokes cleaner than I would make with the Wilsons and I am not rubbishing the Wilsons, they have been great, but I can't help thinking that I am swinging more textbook. See, I didn't expect to hit them well and figured I would sell them, so it wasn't confidence. Can a well customised set, and a back to basics swing actually, unexpectedly improve the performance of ones swing with a more advanced club, once a few rocket off the centre (cause I wasn't swinging well before I took them out)?
