This is merely my opinion,,,toddling off to the local golf pro. when you need a fix for a swing fault is, for the most part, a complete waste of money.
I speak only from personal experiences that I have had over the years,,my opinion of so called " teaching pro's. " is that the majority of them are nothing short of hustlers.
Of course they want you to keep coming back,,,at seventy five bucks for forty five minutes of their valuable time who wouldn't want you to come back ??
Again I'm speaking only of personal experiences, I paid $ 295.00 for a series of five lessons at a golf academy. I used to play off a seven handicap and due to employment commitments and location I only played three rounds in six years.
Once we moved back to the city I retired, joined a club and attended the golf academy, my nemesis was hooking the ball with the long clubs. Five " lessons " later and $ 295.00 lighter I still had the same problem.
My buddy took a video of my swing at the practice range,,we spotted a problem,,fixed it with the help of a driver with a neutral face ( most off the shelf drivers have a 2 degree closed face ).
I got right back to basics with Hogans " Five Fundamentals " and what a help that was.
You-Tube has all the instruction one would ever need, but it really is quite amazing how so many of these teaching professionals contradict one and other with regards to teaching golf.
One says " on the downswing fire the hips just like Arnie used to do " another says " keep your hips as quiet as possible on the downswing " ??????
When you do need help with your game DON'T seek out your teaching pro. it's all there for free on You-Tube,,,Haney, Harmon, Leadbetter, Foley etc. etc. spend the time and research the area that is causing you issues, definately some exceptional help there if you look for it.
