  • Biggest Golf Swing Issue / Problem

I'm curious to know what everyone's biggest or most frustrating issue is with their golf game. What you can't seem to fix no matter what and what you have done to help rectify the problem?

Mine is getting a consisting draw off the tee with my driver. I get it most of the time but occasionally it disappears for no reason and only then I realise I have forgotten to get a full release with my hands and arms which helps me get the right contact on the ball and a right to left ball flight.

My most frustrating issue is having the game to shoot sub 80 (having done it, and having shot level par on a 9) but more often than not I find myself scoring north of 90 most often. It's the two or three worse-than-double holes that do it to me.

I've tried simply punching out sideways from trouble, playing for bogey on every hole, laying up to 130 as often as possible (ie if I've got a shot 200 from the green with trouble in front I'll hit a half 9 to lay up - this goes while playing for bogey).

I can't seem to get my head in a right space. I've even had better players caddy for me, selecting shots and targets for me. No luck.

People get ahead of themselves and their egos start to kick in. They might be playing great and then they start to think 'Wow, i might score x or break par or etc' that is the beginning of the end of a great round. If you can par a hole then you can break par on a full round. Its all in the mind! If the body can learn how to walk using multiple muscles all sychronised to stay balanced, muscles we dont even know we have - if the body can digest a meal and turn it into energy and discharge the waste..then surely it can swing a damn golf club to hit a ball.... the problem is that we try too hard thinking about it to happen. If you go out one evening get really drunk and play golf the next day without any expectations..you will score well. Why? cos we dont have time to think too much about the swing and it just happens!

Leaving uphill putts short. Five feet, ten feet, thirty feet, doesn't matter. It's like I chicken out and don't want to leave myself some kind of downhill - sidehill creeper coming back. I suppose the thing to do would be to practice lots of three foot downhill-sidehill creepers, until I was really good at them.
