  • Closed Clubface Problem; Backswing

    Afternoon,

I started thinking about taking up golf just after christmas and bought my first set of golf clubs. I hit the range a few times and watched alot of videos

ive had a couple of lessons but my biggest problem is that on my full backswing when i am coming back down my clubface is very closed and i am hooding the ball left over 3/4 of the time.

I am right handed and have got a very weak grip to try and accommodate this as its believed to be my right hand been alot stronger than my left.

At the half way back point my club face is as it should be, once i go further than half way thats where it starts to go back.

Are there any videos/ techniques or methods of practice i can do to overcome this, my teacher said it is very strange to happen for a beginner and is very hard to get out of the habbit.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

    Mark

Can you post any videos or stills of your swing?

What is your left wrist doing at the top of the backswing. Is it cupped, flat or bowed?
