  • cwing - anybody using this software?

    Hi all from New Zealand,

I have been using this software to coach my son, he is 14, I think its great.
Would like to hear from anybody using it and how you go about anaylising the swing.

Is their any site out their to help when analyising the golf swing?

    regards

    Rob

Re: cwing - anybody using this software?

I've used CSwing to edit and analyze my own swing, and I think it's fantastic.

I used some of the functions such as their ball speed and swing speed calculators to check for swing efficiency. The drawing tool is fantastic to check spine angles and to see if I'm staying down (or not). Its first great use for me was to show me my reverse pivot (and it's eventual elimination).

The only 'trick' to using CSwing is keeping the video point-of-view consistent from one session to the next. Freehand filming is fine unless you want to compare swings from one session to the next.

Overall, it's the best program for the money, IMO.

How I would use it for a 'session' of analyzing the swing is I would start with body angles, checking that they're all good. I would then move to checking club angles throughout the swing. It's easy to spot sliding and shifting when you can paint lines on, and watch the golfer move around them.

      Hi Rob,

We help to analyse swings free of charge to members here at golf tuition online. The process is simple.

      1. Record your swing and transfer it to your PC.
      2. Upload your swing to our gallery HERE.
      3. Wait for one of our PGA Pro's to provide a free golf lesson. We try and answer all video uploads ASAP. Please upload your video in an MPEG format and keep it under 3Mb.

We to use cSwing as our golf swing video analysis tool. It is a brilliant piece of software, easily one of the best out there and used by many of the top touring professionals.

      Hope this helps

CSwing is what I use. Not only is it the best bang for the buck it's the best swing analysis program I have ever used, period. In all fairness though I have not used it inputting any video from a camcorder. I've only used in on video files people sent me.

                Hi,

David - what format do the videos need to be in order for cSwing to analyse them?

                Thanks

See the section on their website which talks about equipment.

Re: cwing - anybody using this software?

Was looking into buying C swing and don't know how comfortable I would be using my VISA for the £70 ($119) for the CD bundle package over the internet.

Does anyone happen to know if its available from the UK, by telephone mail order or if its available from a shop??

Also is it really easy to use, understand, install and view your swing on it. I have a digital camera which can record short (15 minute) video's and was wondering if it would work on c swing??

                      thanks
