  • Footwok as it relates to posture

I have noticed a discrepancy in Hogan's two books 'Power Golf' and 'Five Fundamentals' that relates to the foot position in the golf stance.

In Hogan's 'Five Fundamentals' Hogan states that the right foot (right hand player) remains perpendicular to the target line and the left foot turned outward 1/4 turn.

In Hogan's 'Power Golf' Hogan advises that both feet point 'slightly out' but the stance (i.e. open/closed) change for each club (i.e. short irons/ long irons and woods).

Which version of the stance is correct and how does open/closed stance affect the swing?

    Thanking you in advance.

    Respectfully,

    JPP
