Just back from the practice ground at my club and i can now send nearly all my iron shots where i aim and leave a perfect divot straight on line with the target
. Never before have i managed this in my four years of trying and it is all down to a minor change at setup. The change being when addressing the ball i have always made a point of resting the sole of the club on the ground, and after swinging, this would usually result in a shot which usually went to the right and a divot that was arrow shaped that went to the left. Not anymore, what i do now as i address the ball is bend a little more and lower my hands just enough to lift the toe of the ground and swing my normal swing and watch that ball sail down the fairway STRAIGHT
.
I dont know if what i am doing is correct but it makes a hell of a differance to my shots and my confidence.
John.
