    Re: draw or fade

    Gents,

I understand the principles behind hitting a hook, draw, slice and fade.

What I find it very difficult to do is convince myself on executing a shot for a hook. I set up with the club face at target with my feet, shoulders and hips right of target and use a flat swing.

What I can't comprehend/convince myself to do is swing the club in line with the shoulders, hips and feet. Do you know what I mean? How can I make myself do this?

    hmmmm

      Re: draw or fade

You need to pick a target to where your shoulders, hips and feet are aligned to. When you have the target, swing for it. If you don't pick something to align to, you will have difficulty committing to the shot.

Also, don't just start hitting these shots on the course without practicing them at the range. You should feel comfortable over the ball while aiming right of the target that the ball will draw as it did the 200 previous times it worked for you during practice. If you are not confident standing over the ball, too many negative thought will take over and there will be a 99% chance that anything but the desired outcome will happen.
