  • Head slide, I find I make much batter contact

when I allow myself to slide a few inches to the right on the back swing. I'm also able to get my shoulder behind the ball only when I make this slight shift to the right (yet I never slide outside my right foot).

Is this something you find yourself doing on the back swing?

Al, you have to slide a few inches to thr right on the backswing. You have a look at a good swing sequence and you will see a good 8-10" inches of movement, sometimes more depending on the club they are swinging.

It is impossible to make a good turn away from the ball if you stay in the same place. Like it is impossible to make a good thru swing by staying in the same place.

Thanks Graham, I think this is why I had a bit of a reverse pivot, because I was trying to keep my head too still. I have a habit of dipping my head (which I noticed in the video), and when I tried to prevent the dip it lead to my head becoming too still. As soon as I allowed myself to slide a bit to the right I was able to get my shoulder behind the ball and the reverse pivot went away. I also lost most of my dip on the through swing.
