Beware of my slice!

HI guys. Being a newbie to golf, i suffer the most common problem, slicing.
I'd like to think i could drive the ball a long way but when you see the ball go 100 mt straight and then go just as far to the right it's pretty disheartening .
So my driver leaves me a huge second shot, which has the same inbuilt 90deg tracker in it . Help anyone. Love the game but can't afford lessons, no loacal driving ranges(I'm in a small town) but i suppose at least we got a golf course.

Without seeing your swing, it's tough to say, but being new at this last year, I'll offer what advice I can.

First, here's the advice from the pair of lessons I took:

From here, I'd assume your slice is caused by an out to in swingpath and open clubface.

For me, I was swinging the club like a baseball bat, thinking about turning my shoulders around my spine.

This lead to pulling with my right shoulder to start my takeaway, and pushing with it to start the downswing. This pushed my hands and arms outside the plane, leaving me no choice but to pull the club back in (causing an out to in swingpath). Once I learned to leave my right side as passive as possible, my slice was pretty much gone.

Another reason you could be slicing is you could be blocking the ball.

Your swing through could be too steep. You realize this in the middle of your swing and pull up to try to correct it, Forcing the ball right for you backwards golfers.........lol.......lowpost is probably right but this is a possibility

Thanks for the tips, it almost seems like mountain of things to check on my game, but one at a time till hopefully i'm knocking them straight. I'll find out tomorrrow if some of your tips pay off. Cheers

Like I said, without seeing your swing, there IS a mountain of things that could be wrong.

If you can, get access to a video camera, and tape your swing. Then, watch it next to a pro swing. There should be some pretty obvious flaws.

Make sure you tape head on and down the line.
