Lately off the tee box and with my long ifons i have begun to hook, many times duck hook. My coach says my weight is on my front foot as i take my backswing, and my stance is about shoulder width. My ball position is center. Sometimes i take my club inside, but even when i take it back on plane i still hook. Help me please

Re: Hook
Bonzi,
The usual cause of this hook for a good player is comming down too much on the inside and flipping the hands in an atemp to square the club face.
Alot of players striving to improve can work to much on eliminating the "over the top", or out side to in action which causes a slice.
Try working the club out a little from the top keeping the left arm out in front of the body on the way down, use a video if poss or a mirror.

Re: Hook
I FOUND MY PROBLEM PULLING ALL OF MY SHOTS! On my bottom hand before i could see basically my palm and i realized this the other day. Now that i focus on seeing at least 1 knuckle on my bottom hand, all of my iron shots have been on line! I will try to some more from the outsie and cut my tee shot to see if this gets rid of the draw i still have!

Re: Hook
New poster here - but this one is SO familiar.
I get hit by the hooks periodically. Things that help me
1) My backswing tends to go flat - "so don't do that"
2) Related to #1 is my tendency to get too far inside getting to the top. I need to keep the club more in front of me on the backswing.
3) I will occasionally get to an "open" position at the top (back of left hand cupped slightly back toward the left forearm). Despite this supposedly being a 'slice' position, I will often end up hooking the ball from there. Getting more closed at the top will sometimes get rid of the hooks for me.
4) Watch your setup. It is surprising the odd little things that creep in. I once found myself kind of closing the clubface at address.
5) If this is a bigger problem for short irons than other clubs, you should check out the lie of your clubs (relative to your swing/stance) on a lie board.
Good luck.
