Hello all, here is my problem.

There are days and weeks when I can play our local courses at +2,3 and sometimes even par. But then I have weeks when my drive just falls to pieces and my score sours up in the high 80's and 90's.
Those days I usually play with my drive going out of bounds or barely getting 30 yards.

My driver starts way left or right or I end up toping the ball over and over.
My iron play stays good but my driver is totally awful.

How can I fix my driver issues and why cant I stay consistent?

    Re: Inconsistent

It's been my expierence that (and I am sorry for repeating myself to all our memebers who hear me preach this over and over, but the question always comes up) the improper use of the hands are 90% probable the reason for inconsistant left and then right shots...i.e. not always hooking or slicing, but doing either one randomly.

What is happening is that the hands try to release their set (cocked) position at the ball in a horozontal plane through the impact zone. This requires an imense amount of perfect timing to get the face square. Too early and you hook, too late and there's the slice. The tops and fats are usually the spine angle/body getting too avtive, but lets fix your hands first.

Here is the Right Hand Drill. Practice that first. Then let us know if this is what you were doing wrong. There is about a 75% success rate on this one. If not, and you were using the hands correctly and you still hook/slice. Then we have to look at your body rotation, sequence, and setup. To be sure those are ok.
