    Hi

I go through periods of hitting the ball well, accurate and long (mainly after a lesson!). At present I am don't know if I will draw, hook, slice, push or pull from one shot to the next! (In my last lesson my pro said my posture, backswing and hip movement are really good but I am dropping my hands too far inside)

I practive twice a week for an hour each time but do not feel I use this time effectively and tend to get frustrated and hit one ball after another and try and change too much to compensate.

    So two questions:

a: How should I approach my practice (two one hour sessions a week)
b: What areas of my swing should I be looking to address to resolve the problems I am having and are there any good drills anyone has?

Aany help would be appreciated - I have match next week and at the moment I have no idea which way the ball will go!

    Thanks

    Dan

    Re: Inconsistent

Spraying is usually caused by imporoper use of the hands. (Sorry again to the memebers who hear this all the time from me)

Do the Right Hand Drill to stop the swatting of the hands and you will gain back the consistant ball striking you want.

      Re: Inconsistent

First, don't limit your practice to when you are at the range. Practice every second you get. This does not have to include hitting balls or even holding a club. Run through the drills your instructor gave you during coffee break, while waiting while on hold or stopped at a red light, during the commercials on TV, etc. The hardest thing about changing your swing is convincing your brain this is what you really want to do every shot. If you can stand up and go through the moves without a club, this works even better.

As for what to work on,work on what your instructor suggests. It sounds like his advice has gotten you on the right path, you just need to practice more to have everything incorporated.

Thanks for all the advice - I will be on the range today to practice this with a more focused approach!

        Thanks again

          Re: Inconsistent

The way i fixed my grip over the past week is just to spend every free moment gripping the club correctly. Now i dont need to focus on fixing my grip because the correct grip is the one that i am now comfortable with!
