  • My golf swing.

Just looked at a video of my golf swing in slow motion. I got to say. IT IS UGLY!

I don't see how I ever make solid contact.

I'm taking the club WAY to far back. I'm about 50 degrees past parallel. Very Daly like. The funny thing is, is when I take it back slow when I'm working on my take away, I don't think I get to parallel. But at full speed it goes way past parallel.

I think I might even have a little bit of reverse pivot, just for a split second.
Then there is the sway. My right hip doesn't seem to move a ton on the back swing, but I have quite a bit of knee action. And I sway forward quite a bit on the forward swing.

I think the sway is related to my extreme back swing. I have to sway some to keep in balance.

I do have a very agressive swing and I hit the ball a long ways. I hit 5 iron around 205. I pegged my 3 iron 265 the other day trying to reach a par 5 in 2.

I think I'm going to try to take 3/4 shots this next round to see how that goes as 3/4 will probably get me to parallel.

    Re: My golf swing.

If you are trying to find the right position at the top, try this:
In you address position with a club in your hands, raise your arms straight out in front of your body to parallel. Next, cock your wrists 90* so your club is pointing skyward. Last, turn your shoulders 90* away from the target (with left shoulder over right knee). This will get you into the proper position at the top.

A check point at the top of the backswing is the 'waiter position' or the 90* check:

upper arm (bicep/tricep) is 90* to your right side
forearm is 90* to your upper arm
hand is 90* to your forearm
