  • Hitting irons out the toe of the club

I find that most of my iron shots are hit closer to the toe end of the club. Could I be standing too far away from the ball. What experiments do you suggest I try.

    Regards,

Hitting from the toe of the club

    Hi Bill,

It could well be that you are standing slightly too far from the ball, go through the posture drill here to check that you are standing the correct distance from the ball.

The most common reason I see for people hitting out of the toe of the club is an out-to-in swing, which generally produces a left-to-right shot (slice). To read more about this try this thread, or alternatively type slice into the search box.
