Recently I have been hitting great shots and some hideous shots. I would appreciate it of someone could give me a drill to stop sliding my hips toward the target on my downswing. Thanks Alot.

Hi David
Several drills have been quoted on the golf channel for this one, but the best one I've found is get into your ball address stance and to imagine a really long pole is stuck on your back. The pole extends down to, and is dug into, the ground behind you. The only way you can swing the club is to rotate your body around this pole. Take some imagination, but it works for me.
Another is to hit balls whilst leaning on a bar stool, if you rotate your rear around the stool, OK ... if you slide off the stool, or knock the stool over, then you are sliding your hips. Not sure this one works, never owned a bar stool.
Good luck

I'm a golfaholic, no question about that. Counseling wouldn't help me. They'd have to put me in prison, and then I'd talk the warden into building a hole or two and teach him how to play. ~Lee Trevino
As badgers has said but with a difference as to pole position i have the thought of a pole stuck through my head and exiting at my butt then nailed into the ground this thought prevents me of any sideways movement of any part of my anatomy including the head so there is only one way to swing the club and that is to rotate the sholders around this centre point.
at the practice range setup to your ball then put your feet together and swing your club, you will turn instead of swaying, if you sway you lose your balance.
