Now that i am struggling because of other things occupying the majority of my time i have come up with a new theory to my swing. Plain and simply it is this: The longer the club, the shorter the swing. You could also look at it as the clubhead should travel the same distance with all clubs. I think about this when my driver gets out of control. I think a shorter backswing for my driver to produce a more compact swing and more of an explosion than usual. With my wedges i full swing because they are tough to mis-hit. This is a technique that i use for accuracy and it is sucessful. Try it if you would like. What does everyone think about this?

There is no doubt a shorter swing will assist with control. The thing with a shorter abckswing is you are disrupting your normal tempo. Although your club may be longer, your body motions should remain the same. A longer club doesn't require any different difference in distance your hands travel or your shoulders turn.

But back to the beginning, you are correct - if you are looking for control and accuracy, try shortening up your backswing.
