    http://www.swingsetter.com/flash.aspx

anybody used this thing? Need something I can use in my apartment. Can't get the the range during the week very much. This looks to be a decent swing tool. I still need to get down my basic mechanics.

I have a Medicus 5 iron, but not very easy to hit it inside on the carpet.

My brother in law has been using it to teach his wife to swing. Apparently it works quite well for her. I haven't seen it (I just found out last night), but I plan on taking it for a whirl.

Thanks, I ordered it yesterday. Amazon.com can deliver it 3-5 weeks faster than www.swingsetter.com. Swingsetter site quotes 4-6 weeks. Amazon.com can deliver in 1-5 business days, if you pay an extra $8.00.

      Willl post my results.

Any news on this? Anybody else tried the swingsetter? I keep seeing it advertised on the golf channel and have thought about trying it out.

It teaches you to set your wrists early in the swing.

For the money, I'd go with a pair (or trio) of lessons.

              Re: SwingSetter by Leadbetter

Seems to me that the Swingrite (http://swingrite.com/) does what the SwingSetter purports to do. I guess the main idea is to work on the timing of the swing, so that you get the sound at what should be the impact point. I don't know that it's possible to fine-tune the timing that precisely this way, since your brain isn't going to be able to register *exactly* when the gadget clicks. But if your swing is way off, I imagine you'd be able to tell. It makes me curious to know how far off my swing might be...

Anyone got any feedback on this yet? I have been looking at getting something to work with timing / tempo and some plane training for the long winter month's. I know the Medicus has been around for awhile ( still might grab a 5 iron ), just wondered what some thought on this?

Get the medicus. I see no way how the swingsetter can teach you swing plane or path. The medicus is definitely a useful tool. (And yes, I have swung the swing setter; I remember thinking, "and this is supposed to do... what?")

                    Re: SwingSetter by Leadbetter

My colleaugue uses one of these. You have to make a 'click' on the backswing then another 'click' on the downswing. But in order to make the backswing 'click' you have to either set the wrists early in your backswing or whip it away so fast you take the club by surprise!!

Not good for tempo....in fact not good for anything! e.g. the grip is such, that you can only grip it one way!

swing setter is actually a spin off of the power release, http://rovergolf.com/pages/powerrelease.html Leadbetter has actually used this for lessons

I'll stick with my Whippy Tempo Master; so far this is the only training aid that works for me.

I wonder how difficult it would be to make a homemade version of this baby!!

i got one, it is decent, it does teach you good rythym and how to set your wrist properly, helped my dad in that department alot, it can teach you how to swing harder and the lesson video it comes with is a lot of help from leadbetter

its not quite for a 'good' golfer, it would only really benefit total beginners

i bought one of these bout a month ago. yes it does improve consistancy and covers most of the fundamentals for having a good swing HOWEVER it had caused me to start scooping the ball and also can make your swing a bit disjointed
