  • Swing Arch

Hi Guys, hope you all are enjoying the US Open. Pretty close for many!!!

I have a very technical question regarding the bottom of my swing arch. With my seven iron -for example- the bottom of my swing arch is very close to my right foot instead of middle of stance. Feet are aligned correctly, shoulders correct, takeaway good, balls straight with slight draw and occasional fade.

How do I move "the bottom of my swing arch" forward without forcing my swing. I can't figure this out on my own and need your always helpful input. Thanks.

    Re: Swing Arch

If you're consistently taking a divot closer to the midle of your stance, move your ball.

While there is no such thing as a textbook swing, there are some things that are common between golf swings.

There are 2 theories about ball position: One is that you move the ball forward and back in your stance (feet stay the same distance apart), and the other is that the ball stays in the same position, but your feet get closer and further to each other.

First, figure out what method you're using, and adjust accordingly.

I still think that you need to put your ball where your divot begins, so again, if you're consistently taking divots close to the middle of your stance, make sure your ball goes there.

Thanks for the clarification. Did you see Tiger s****ing the green with his putter? Shame on him!!!

You are not transferring your weight to your left side. Your weight is staying back on your right foot.

Jordy you are absolutely correct!!! Went to my backyard and hit a few checking my weight transfer and it seemed that I was transfering my weight mentally but not physically (if that makes sense). Need tons of practice to correct. Thanks.
