Having Trouble With Shoulders Being To Far Open At Impact Causing Weak Pulls/duckhooks Any Ideas?

    Re: Open Shoulders

    Hi Jake,

My first thought is perhaps a lake of shoulder turn on the backswing in the first instance........you should start the swing "completely relaxed" with the left shoulder, this first move can make of break the swing, try turning the shoulders and nothing else moves for the first three feet the club head travels.

    or

It maybe a simple case of set-up position.....remember feet to the left of the target and shoulders aiming at the target.............put your club across your chest when you have addressed the ball as a check point.

    Hope this helps

    Ian.

Last Night I Was Playing And Tried Everything To Get It Right One Thing Did Seem To Straighten Out My Ball Flight And I Think It Kinda Goes Along With What You Said I Tried To Get Myself Turned Behind The Ball More - Back To The Target And It Helped But I Didnt Know If That Was The Right Thing To Practice Or Not So I Quit Doing It
Is This Waht You Ment By Turn Your Shoulders More On The Way Back

        Re: Open Shoulders

        Yes Jake,

If you are relaxed at set up and then turn the left shoulder first, the first three feet the clubhead travels nothing should move at all only the shoulders.

It may feel like you have "lost" the target because you have turned your back on it, don't worry your natuarl instincts will get you back square to the ball.

"Trust it" often heard rarely tried.

Anything new will feel strange, just keep practicing it for a few weeks and you will start to do it naturally.

        Good Luck.

        Ian.
