Hi, im a 15 handicap and have recently traded in my wilson prostaffs for some taylor made rac 2's......with my wilsons my game was straight apart from the odd 3 iron hook....with the tm the majority of shots were sliced or pushed right!! im not sure whether this is to do with the large offset of the tm. Just to get around at the weekend i was setting up with the club face closed by a few degrees.....this did result in some great shots but its only a short term fix.......anyone have any ideas??

With the problem you are talking about it would be the old clubs that had a big offset. They were designed for you not to slice and you developed a swing that produced a straight ball with these. Then you go to standard clubs with this swing and it slices. Focus on extending all the way out and a little bit right of the target assuming you are right handed. You just need time to produce a good swing with the new sticks -

If you think it's a club problem rather than something in your swing, it may be something to do with shaft length, flexi, grips etc. There's no reason why you shouldn't be able to hit any club providing it's adjusted for you. Always try before you buy.Comment

Be sure that they proerly fitted you for the correct shaft. The shaft may be too stiff for you, or the grips are too large. When grips become larger they inhibit rotation of the hands. This will result in a pushes and fades.
This can be determined by your swing speed. Find this out and then get fitted for the correct shafts.
The lie angle may be too flat. Have this checked this very well may be the culprit.Comment
