  • Swaying on downswing!

    Hi all,

Just noticed on some video of myself swinging the club in the garden, that on the downswing i sway or hips slide a fair bit into the left side well before inpact.
(6 inches) but i dont do this on the backswing.

Could anyone help me with what should be happeing in this department and if possible any drills to help me??

    Many thanks again!

Try looking at greg's impact drill and right hand drill on this site. The right hand drill helps you get into position to perform the hip rotation and helps you to maintain the angle in the right elbow from the top of the back swing until just before impact. The and the impact drill gives you an idea where your hips should be at impact.

I forgot to add ... if you swing too fast that can create a lunge at the ball instead of the required sweeping, turning action. People swing at different speeds so getting it right and remaining balanced is through trial and error.
