  • What Should I Do?

I am sure I am not alone on this but maybe a couple of you don't have this problem and can help out. I feel like I have a million things going through my mind and just can't swing freely. I am consitently changing my set up, one day I could be doing one thing the next I could be something totally different. My goal is to have one swing and be able to get DECENT results from it. I just wish I could go back to the basics and do that, the problem with that though is there are so many different opinions and ways of going about it.
I am almost to the point where all I do is go to the range, its like I am scared to go to the course. I just really wish instead of worrying about what to change for the next shot I wish I could be thinking about where I want to place it and make MY OWN swing. I need help guys I go to the range all the time and I am not seeing a lot of improvement at all. Please Help.

    Re: What Should I Do?

    Hi Papa,

"don't run before you can walk"

Its sounds to me like a classic case of moving to the next task before the first ones finished.

What you need to do is work on one thing only at the range or the course, just one swing thought will help reduce the stress in your swing.

Your body is perfectly capable of hitting the ball without any interferance from your mind, however when you are working on improvement you need to think about the change until it become engrained into your swing (about three/four weeks), this is how long you need to think about (one) swing thought and do not introduce anymore.

This is what the first sentence is for, by constantly introducing new moves the body becomes confused, for an exercise next time at the range......with the last 20 balls try hitting every single one without any thoughts at all simply hum to yourself when you swing.

This is a great exercise and good practice to help you take your game to the course.

    Hope this Helps.

    Ian.
