  • Driver and Long Iron slice

I hit the ball a long way, about 300 off the tee. When I am using my driver I fight a big slice 30-50 yards off center. I am 6'1" and weigh 295. I figure I am going out to in and cutting across the ball. I usually fade my 3 iron-S wedge and it is progressively worse the longer the iron. I do make excellent contact with all my clubs. I just want to hit it straight and be consistent. What type of setup and drills can I do to correct it?

Come down from the inside. Two things may happen:

    Inside-out: You'll push
Inside-in: You'll hit it straight (which is what you want)

This is very common. A drill to work on this is to place a cardboard box on the other side of your ball parallel to the target line. Only leave about 1/2 inch of clearance for your clubhead to strike the ball. Now, if you come from the outside, you will strike the cardboard box. You could buy the inside approach as well, but this works just as well and is free.

Thanks for the advice guys. I am 49 and am really working on this a lot now. I have came from 30+ down to around 14-15. I just need a little tuning.
