  • Everything done right to make a good backswing

    Hi There Guys

I would like to know everything about the downswing. I would like to know the right swing plane to be on and the position of the hands too. Also where the weight should be when you are swinging.

In other words, if someone could tell me everything about having a good downswing to hit straight long and consistant shots without having to think too much about things before hitting a shot, I would be most greatful as I could take the advice to the driving range to try it out.

I would be much greatful as I am playing in my junior Sunday medal on the 24th.

    Many Thanks

    Alan

Are you a one plane swinger or two plane?

It seems that the one plane swing is the easiest to learn (IMO) as there are very few moving parts.

So, from the top of the swing, start by turning your hips toward target (pivot back, as it were).

Then, IIUC, you simply turn your shoulders through to target, and let the arms follow (and they should follow your same plane on your backswing, IF you haven't moved your hip plane or spine angle during your backswing.

Now, I'm not well versed in the one plane swing (I've got a rudimentary understanding), but I do know that if you try to implement two plane swing tips into your one plane swing, you'll shoot some of the highest scores you've ever seen!
