    Re: pratice drill

    Sean,

This is an age old problem, many golfers stand aimless at the range just hitting ball after ball ingraining a swing fault, it is a good start that you recognise this is no way forward in your own game.

I cannot tell you what to work on if you do not have swing faults or something you need to eradicate from your game.

However with a net in your garden it is alway good to work on a nice easy rhythm, this is at the root of every golf swing this is why there have been so many unauthordox professionals, they all have one thing in common.......................Rhythm.

Like Ian said, work on rhythm. The other thing a net might be useful for is working on short game shots. These still require rhythm, but are a different set of mechanics than your full swing (depending of the 'school of short game' you attend).

You may be further ahead to purchase some whiffle balls (aka plastic balls with the holes in them - for my friends in Oz), and head to a deserted park or field.

That way, you can still see what your ball flight is doing, without crushing balls hundreds of yards. (Granted, with a 3i, you can still probably launch a plastic ball 40 or 50 yards).

I love nets. They are free (basically). It is all about getting in shape, and having your feel game better in tune. If you don't know what to do and you get board just hitting into the net, get a small target that you hang by a string, like a nurf ball or a tennis ball (something soft). Adjust the hight to fit your club and use that as you game or target. Try a bell if you really want to scare the neighbors.
