  • Which Golf Ball

    Hi There,

I have no problem hitting the green with my approach shot, but the ball just keeps on going, I am thinking about changing my ball to one which spins more as I am justing a pure distance one at the moment, but I am concerned that this will not help the flight of my ball in terms of spinning to the left or right.

Which ball should I choose to get a happy medium?

Are you playing on rock hard courses?! I played today and hit a 175 yard wedge but only cos the fairway was rock solid. Having said that I also use a pro v1 and like the nxt tour balls when the course is soft.

but what I am wary of is changing to a higher spinning ball that this would encourage hooks or slicing of the golf ball, would this be the case?

Pro V1 if you can afford it. If not, the Top-Flite Long & Soft is a pretty good econo ball that has good feel & does impart spin.

Stay away from DT Solo, Noodles, Pinnacles, etc, they have too much "rubber ball" bounce to them.

Marginally. If you can slice a distance ball, then you'll only add a couple extra yards with a spin ball. This tradeoff for better ability to hold greens? I took that challenge - and wouldn't buy distance balls again.

I'll take the Platinum over anything, anyday. It is worth the price.
