  • inconstistency

I have been playing golf off and on for about 8 years but only really started takng it seriouslly about two months ago and I am now consitentlly scoring 83-86. I hit a draw off the tee, usually fairly controlled, I normally have solid ball striking with my iorns and hit most greens in reg., my putting is getting better I have never had a lesson by a real golf instructor. My question is I need to break 80 and was hoping someone could give me advice for getting there? I am also having some trouble with accuacy off the tee.

Exactlly I am putting way more than I should and I am trying to fix that. I am experiencing inconsitency off the tee I normally hit a nice draw by putting my back foot back (away from the ball) but latelly I have started to slice or just dont get any draw and the ball goes off to the right if I play my feet evenlly I get a slice almost every time. Any Suggestions?

If you are shooting in the mid to low 80's after 2 months of serious golf, that is wonderfufl. I don't think I would do much different. You might take a lesson, tell the pro that if he tries to change anything but your driver, you will disable him with your driver. Sounds like Johnny Miller's start in golf.

Hey, how do you grip your putter? A few years ago I switched grips from a normal overlap grip to one I see the pros use more (can't remember name but I'll describe). Grip the putter with both hands without overlapping your fingers (like a baseball bat), but place your left pointer finger over the ends of the fingers on your right hand (if you're right-handed). This has helped me somewhat, but I still have other putting issues to fix. As far as your slice on your driver, I usually slow things down a little to make sure I'm doing everything right (backswing beginning of downswing) to correct my slicing.

Wow you really spun my head there I get what you are saying my problem is a coach or a teacher to show me these things. I want to go to golf college at PGCC in orlando but I have never had a coach or really someone to play with that is better than me enough times to teach me these things. I really need a coach but I don't know where to start looking for one I dont even know how to get a score card attested, or get a handicap, much less a reference for the school I know I don't know much but, I know the general rules and I love the game so much it's all I ever think about or do for that matter. Any suggestions on where or how to pick up a coach? Or do I need to go get lessons?
