I see by where the post was (lefty's corner) that you're a lefty. A shot going left means you are fading or cutting the ball. How badly is the movement to the left and where does the ball start out?

Does it start straight and then curve slight or lots left or does it start left and carry on going further left? (for example...)

hi graham my drive starts out straight then at the end of the shot fades to the left,i have been told it should fade to the right at the end which means it has top spin and will carry more,i do not seem to be able to swing it the other way.i would say 10% of my drives go straight, any tips would be appriciated

Re: Help tee shot pulling to left

Sorry for the late reply, I had to travel to a tournament to help one of my touring pros who was chopping like mad out there!

Well, your problem (if you want to call it that), is a small problem. If the golf ball starts straight and then drops gently to the left, your club face is marginally open. There is nothing wrong with your swing or swing path because the golf ball starts out straight.

So, you have to do some practice on making sure your close the club face as you release. Some people can do it easily, other people struggle. If you need help with this, let me know.
