Haha sorry, I just couldn't resist it. Yep, I'm referring to the waggle.. Isn't it kinda like swatting? I'm trying to develop some pre-shot routine, my current one is horrible. I kind straighten then bend, straighten then bend my left elbow a couple of times.. I hate it!

My pre shot routine is work out my target line. grip the club as i walk to the ball doing a couple of hammer type swings up and down waggles. I then aim the club then setup to the grounded club rotate my head making sure my leading edge is online, I then look at my feet making sure they are slightly closed to the target line. (I get a better shoudler turn and hit draws doing this). I then hit hit.

The real purpose of the waggle is to keep the wrists loose, not to rehearse the impact.

Having said that, I find I like to rehearse the impact a bit. So I do a short takeaway and return, a la Mike Weir, and I turn my hips on the return and hold the lag. I do it slowly, just to feel the position. But this is because my particular weakness is a tendency for the hips to do nothing until it's too late. I don't think tightness in the wrists is one of my problems, so the waggle isn't needed.
