    Hi,
    My name is Chad. This is my first post and I plan to do a lot more. I am 4.8 handicap and play golf 2-3 times a week. I have recently found what I believe is the key to my golf swing, starting the downswing with my lower body. My main problem right now is a weight transfer problem. I notice that I tend to get all of my weight on my toes when I am on the downswing. As you may know this is one of the ways to come over the top. I don't won't to be totally on my heels but I am losing balance. Any suggestions

        Better your weight on your toes or farward rather than back on your heels. Heels will restrict your turn and virtually assure you will come over the top.

          Welcome to my world Chad, my usual "bad shot" is a horrible duck hook with me on my toes.
          Try swinging with a golf ball under the front of each foot.

          I have also started to initiate the down swing with the hips/legs when it works its great, mcuh more distance and a better shot, also seems to help me lag the club.

          The problem is if I overdo it /do it too quickly it all goes pear shaped and ends up thin and sore!

            I believe that is wrong becasue if you have your weight on your toes you can only come over the top, but with the weight more on your balls of your feet and heels you can come from the inside more easily.

              I agree with the weight more on the heels. I am tall and when I bend over too much I get weight on my toes too much. When I get it right and get the weight more toward my right heel on the backswing it seems easier to start the swing with my hips. Just my 2 cents.
