    Hey Guys,

I'm trying to figure out why I've started hitting my irons and woods on the toe of the club. I've always had an inside swing path and my ball flight is normally a draw or a slight push. I know I'm not standing to far from the ball and I don't feel like I'm moving up or down on the swing. Any ideas?

    Re: Toe shots

A toe shot has one cause:

Your club is more inside the target line at impact than it was at address, either because you're reaching for the ball and/or standing too far away.

When I switched over to the one plane swing, I hit a lot of toe shots. I was reaching with my arms at address, trying to 'get my hands under my chin'. Then when I swung, my arms would naturally come back in, resulting in the toe hit. To compensate, I moved a little closer to the ball. The problem was that I also stood up a bit straighter so that my hands would still be under my chin. More toe hits. So I bent over (increased my spine angle) a little more so that my hands hung naturally under my chin. No more toe hits.

So, long story short, check for reaching with your arms. Let them hang relaxed, and move your body to get the club to the ball at address.

Or try addressing the ball with the heel like Vijay does.
