  • A different question on balance

Towards the end of the summer I developed a problem whereby I step / fall forward (forward as in across the target line) on or around impact.

One day ball striking was better than ever it has been, the next I was falling over. I suspect that in an attempt to "hit the ball" even better I started overswinging ("hit the ball" is a clue here perhaps!).

    Any ideas or drills. Please.

Thanks for the reply and the link.

I'll be trying the 2*4 and Pump drills at home before I venture out on to the course.

Another possible cause of this is if you take the club back on too shallow a plane and get the club too far around and behind you. This causes you to throw it forward and come up over your toes at/after impact. I had this problem a couple of weeks after changing to the 1PS from over-doing some things. To begin with I could still strike the ball well and hit perfect shots which was strange but it just got worse.

Easy way to check if this is the cause is to swing infront of a mirror.
