    Re: divots

I only take small divots myself. With my long irons I just rip some grass

      Re: divots

If the ball flight is ok with a shallow divot your ok. Are you hitting it thin if so then you probably need a little divot. Hogan just swept the ball off the turf.

        Hi Doogkie,

7-3 iron no divot and wedge-7 iron, I assume some divot......................

If this is the case then you are swinging almost perfect, however it is clear that you must have a very shallow attack into the ball, I guess your driver and long irons go well and you tend to pull wegdes?, I may of course be wrong..!!

If this is the case there are a couple of things you can do, slightly narrow your stance, this alone will create a steeper angle of attack..........and/or work on a little steeper takeaway, this works best with a left shoulder start to the swing, somehow it is easier to get a little steeper.

One word of warning..........NEVER go seeking divots they will come naturally, with the correct swing.

        Hopes this helps.

        Ian.
