  • Width at the top

Does anyone have a simple key to help keep the width of the swing at the top of the backswing. I find if I do not keep an eye on it I get lazy and get very narrow at the top.

    Hi Chappy,

A very simple way to work on width is keep your hands as far away as possible from you head at all times.

    Nothing else matters for width.

    Hope this helps

    Ian.

      Hi Ian,

Would we run the risk of over-stretching, and also having a chicken-wing right elbow? How far is too far?

      Thanks!

        Hi Simon,

Golf clubs are more or less the same length so the only way to create width in the swing is by keeping the hands as far away as possible from the head, you are correct we shouldn't uncomfortably stretch to much.

A great example of width is my mates swing, he's on the home screen 'Mr Curleys swing' just have a look at the width Ian creates when he swings, very similat to tiger.
